Rome Poem Reflection
This is a poem I wrote about the fall of Western Rome to prove that I remember historical facts and that I'm good at poetry. This was also a coordinated project with computers class, as I typed it and formatted it there. This project taught me about rhyme, metre, and alliteration by having me choose one of the three to use in my poem. I chose rhyme because it was the easiest of the three. Rhyme is when every line, other line, three lines, or any other pattern of lines or words sound similar. Metre is when there is a repeated word or phrase throughout the poem. Alliteration is when words that all begin with the same letter appear in succession. This is included because it best shows the kind of things we do in core class.
This is my Hajj journal. We had to write about a fictional character that was on the Hajj with Mansa Musa. We wrote this journal from the point of view of this person, and what it was like on the Hajj. I chose this assignment to represent core because this was one of the most important assignments of the fist semester.
This is the popes and kings comic strip I was required to write for my core class. It's purpose was to ensure our understanding of the conflict between popes and kings, as well as how it started. I wrote mine with pope Hipster Jesus in place of Pope Leo, and King Batman in place of King Henry. It shows the original fight between the two. With a little stuff I added in. Just a little though.
This is my first book assessment for my core class. We had to choose from several different activities to do on a book we read this year. I chose one where I had to write about what the characters would be doing ten years from now. When reading it back it's very obvious that I ran out of creativity as I went on. The purpose of this activity was to verify that we could retain information from the books we read.
